Real Weddings Inspiration: Louise & Fraser

Today, we have a real treat! One of our couples, Louise and Fraser, have written in about their experience of working with us, and we also get a look into their gorgeous wedding setting and happy day! Louise was a true dream to work with, and seeing it all come together definitely has made my day! Over to you, Louise!

“We were lucky enough to celebrate our wedding in August at the stunning Iscoyd Park in Whitchurch, marrying at the little, white St Mary’s Whitewell church just a few minutes away.

I loved every minute of the planning, reading wedding blogs like Rock My Wedding, where I discovered BerinMade, and searching Pinterest for inspiration. We wanted our wedding celebrations to be fun for our guests and romantic with lots of personal touches. With just over 10 months until our wedding and with family and friends travelling from far and wide, we were keen to send out Save The Dates. I ordered some samples and we picked the Joyful Hearts design as it was fun and also gave us the flexibility to mix with another of BerinMade’s Iovely designs once we were further along with our planning to tie into the day. The dots on Joyful Hearts were like confetti, so I included giant pastel confetti in the envelopes for an extra bit of fun when our guests opened them.

I wasn’t set on a matching colour scheme as such, but love pale mint green and silver, and when we found the most gorgeous mint dresses for our beautiful bridesmaids I thought it would be lovely to take this through to our stationery. Our amazing florist Selina Godsal designed pretty bouquets in blush pink, peach and cream with David Austin Juliet roses, peonies and contrasted with deep green leaves. So for our Invitations and On The Day stationery I wanted mint and roses to feature, and with so many options to choose from, the semi-custom first names intertwining style was the perfect choice for us.

Erin created the most beautiful invitation design with our names in her lovely handwriting, in mint with pink roses on the back and peeking out of the corners on the front. We also ordered Information Cards, which had all the details our guests would need on a handy small card. I tied the Invitations and Info Cards together with silver ribbon. The Order of Service was so lovely it made us cry when we first saw the design; it was stunning and seeing it made it all become even more real! Erin added our personal message to our guests on the first page and a quote that is personal to us on the back cover.

We had the same flowers on tables in our marquee which Selina also decorated with silver vases, and an abundance of glass and silver tealights to match the fairy light ceiling with chandeliers. We hired glass silver chargers and glasses from  Whitehouse Crockery, and our mint menus added a splash of colour. For a bit of fun on the tables, I made table numbers with photos of Fraser and me at the same ages from 1 to 10, and placed photo props in vases for our selfie-loving guests. Our favours were fudge from Cornwall, where we got engaged. Iscoyd Park’s Bar Manager is a World Cocktail Champion and he created delicious personalised cocktails for us, which our guests loved. For next to the dance floor and bar we hired light up letters and a heart from The Word Is Love for extra sparkle.

I love baking and with the help of my mother, who made her famously delicious boozy fruit cake for the bottom tier, I created a 4 tier cake decorated with pale pink and white icing, silver leaf, ribbons and ivory roses. Fraser is a surgeon so as a surprise I asked our best man’s very talented father-in-law to make us a special giant scalpel cake knife, which Fraser thought was hilarious!

So many incredible memories of special moments and pretty things, all captured by our very talented photographer Alexandra Holt and videographer Simon Clarke. We chose one of our favourite photos for our Thank You Cards, which Erin designed to incorporate the mint and roses to tie back into our wedding day.

So many guests complimented the stationery, and we even have an Order of Service framed on our wall as it’s such a pretty piece of artwork. I can’t recommend Ben and Erin highly enough; it was a pleasure to work with them.”
