Modern Chevrons and Copper Fabulousness (LoveLuxe Launch Part 1)

So, it seems that I’m slowing getting my blogging mojo back. These past few months have been packed with styled shoots, promotional activities, new product development, DIYs all in the height of the wedding season. My poor, poor neglected blog has been so quiet. Actually, my computer has not been turned off for the past 8 weeks now. All you techies out there are tutting at me, I know. *hangs head in shame*

So, to get back into the swing of things, I thought I would jump start by writing more about this LoveLuxe launch which seemed to be a whirlwind of party-licious fabulous. And since there are so many blog posts flying about with delicious photographs of the party, I thought I would offer up my angle of how we translated a few ideas to pulling together a vision!

7 stylists were invited to design, style and pull together their vision of the perfect party at Goldney Hall which best represents their style, while showcasing some of the suppliers of their choices. You can read all about the party here! I was so over the moon to be asked to contribute to two of these tables: Andri from Always Andri Wedding Design co-designing with Jodie from Boutique Blooms, and Michelle & Vicki from Pocketful of Dreams, both of whose work, aesthetic and creativity I love and admire so much! If you’d never thought about hiring a planner/stylist for your celebration, this might just change your mind. I mean, these girls are pros! SO, without further ado…

First up, Always Andri, who co-designed this table with Jodie from Boutique Blooms had a vision of a festive and modern party table which features bold graphic chevrons, and a delicious copper finish. Here are some of their initial inspiration photos:

Andri and Jodie’s vision was specifically a bold colour pallette of turquoise, coral, yellow and fuchsia, colours that seriously popped.

They liked the idea of circular placemats of alternating colours, with a special copper finish. I experimented with a few ways to making a perfect circle out of cardstock, and finally decided to take it to a model shop to be laser cut. (Model shops are the coolest!)

We made the chevrons the main focal point of these paper pieces, and played with alternating colours from the palette. I created a table placemat that doubly features a flourishing calligraphy menu on the left which adds a soft touch to the bold lines, with space for a cute little macaron plate off set cheekily to the right.

We also created complimenting pieces such as a clever cutlery wraps, matching itsy-bitsy place cards, and a copper chevron table number to complete the set.

It was super fun to be working on the LoveLuxe launch with such innovative stylists such as Andri and Jodie, to get an insight into their visions, moodboards, and working styles! Often times, to pull off something simple and elegant looks deceptively easy but in reality, takes a lot of thought as there as less details to hide behind. Not to mention that the colours, working together with the beautiful flowers, really made the whole table pop. Don’t you agree?

Finally, HUGE love and thanks to Andri of Always Andri and Jodie of Boutique Blooms for pulling all of this together, which looks effortlessly elegant, but no doubt took hours on end. I love how it all turned out, and was honoured to be a part of it.

Stayed tuned for the second half of my LoveLuxe Launch post later on this week, on Michelle and Vic’s table at Pocketful of Dreams. They were really the Dream Team. You’ll see!!
